Five college students travel to an isolated cabin in the Tennessee woods for a weekend away. Inside, they discover an ancient book bound in human flesh and a tape recording containing translations of Sumerian incantations. When the recording is played, it awakens a malevolent supernatural force capable of possessing the living. Trapped in the cabin as his friends are transformed one by one, Ash must fight to survive the night and prevent the evil from claiming him as well.
