The Freeling family lives peacefully in the suburban community of Cuesta Verde until strange phenomena begin occurring inside their home. Their youngest daughter, Carol Anne, establishes contact with mysterious entities through the television, and what initially appears playful soon becomes terrifying when she is pulled into another realm. Unable to reach her physically but still able to hear her voice, her parents seek help from a team of paranormal investigators and a spiritual medium. As the supernatural activity intensifies, they must uncover the secret beneath their neighborhood and rescue Carol Anne before the malevolent force holding her captive takes complete control.
