Max Caulfield is a photography student who returns to her hometown of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, to attend Blackwell Academy. After unexpectedly discovering that she can rewind time, Max reunites with her childhood friend Chloe Price. Together they begin investigating the mysterious disappearance of student Rachel Amber while uncovering increasingly troubling secrets surrounding Arcadia Bay. Max's ability allows the player to reverse certain actions and decisions, but changing the past can produce unforeseen consequences that affect both the people around her and the course of the story.
