In September 1986, Meredith Weiss leaves her busy career in the city to return to her hometown of Providence Oaks, Oregon. For two weeks, she takes over her father's job as the local mail carrier, delivering letters and packages around the lakeside community. As she meets old acquaintances and gets to know new residents, Meredith can choose whom to help, befriend or pursue romantically. Her experiences and decisions shape her relationships and lead her to consider whether to return to her former life or remain in the town where she grew up.
