Gideon Emery
Gideon Emery is an English actor, voice actor, writer, director, and singer born on September 12, 1972, in Windsor, Berkshire, England. At the age of four, he moved with his family to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he discovered a talent for accents and impersonations that would later become one of his greatest professional strengths. After studying drama, he began his career in South African theatre, sketch comedy, and television before relocating to Los Angeles. Emery has since built an extensive international career in both live-action and voice acting. He is widely recognized for playing Deucalion in Teen Wolf, while his prolific voice work includes iconic characters such as Fenris in Dragon Age II, Lor'themar Theron in World of Warcraft, Balthier in Final Fantasy XII, and numerous roles across the Halo, Call of Duty, Star Wars, and The Elder Scrolls franchises. Marvel fans know him for portraying Anatoly Ranskahov in Daredevil. Anatoly is one of the Russian mob leaders working with Wilson Fisk, whose accidental humiliation of Fisk leads to one of the series' most shocking scenes when Fisk brutally murders him by repeatedly slamming a car door into his head. Although his screen time is brief, Emery's charismatic performance establishes Anatoly as a memorable presence and serves as a pivotal moment in demonstrating Fisk's terrifying capacity for violence. Thanks to his remarkable vocal versatility, mastery of accents, and commanding screen presence, Gideon Emery has become one of the entertainment industry's most respected character and voice actors.
