Kathleen Kennedy (born June 5, 1953) is an American film producer and executive widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern Hollywood. She began her career working with Steven Spielberg and received her first associate producer credit on Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). In 1981, she co-founded Amblin Entertainment alongside Spielberg and Frank Marshall, producing a remarkable succession of acclaimed and commercially successful films including E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, the Back to the Future trilogy, The Goonies, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, The Sixth Sense, and many others. In 1992, she and Marshall founded The Kennedy/Marshall Company, continuing to produce major feature films. Following The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, Kennedy was appointed president of the studio by George Lucas, overseeing the revival of the Star Wars franchise through the sequel trilogy, standalone films such as Rogue One, and acclaimed Disney+ series including The Mandalorian and Andor. Throughout her career, she has produced or executive produced more than seventy feature films, received multiple Academy Award nominations as a producer, and is recognized as one of the most accomplished producers in the history of the film industry.
