Mickey Rourke, born Philip Andre Rourke Jr., is an American actor and former professional boxer whose career spans more than four decades. He rose to prominence with acclaimed performances in films such as Diner, Rumble Fish, 9½ Weeks and Angel Heart, establishing himself as one of Hollywood's most distinctive actors. After returning from professional boxing, Rourke experienced a major career resurgence with Sin City and The Wrestler, earning an Academy Award nomination, a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for the latter. He also portrayed Ivan Vanko / Whiplash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Iron Man 2 (2010).
