Peter Shinkoda
Peter Shinkoda is a Canadian actor, writer, and producer born on March 25, 1971, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Raised in Montreal, he developed an early interest in both the performing arts and athletics, excelling in sports while also studying classical piano. Before pursuing acting full-time, he attended the University of Western Ontario to study Civil Engineering, later moving to Los Angeles to study Post-Production for Film and Television at UCLA. He worked for several years as an assistant editor at Warner Bros., contributing to films such as Romeo Must Die, Rat Race, and Freddy Got Fingered, before fully transitioning into acting. Shinkoda gained international recognition for portraying Dai in Steven Spielberg's science-fiction series Falling Skies and became well known to Marvel audiences as Nobu Yoshioka in Daredevil. A high-ranking member of the Hand and an ally of Wilson Fisk, Nobu serves as one of Matt Murdock's most dangerous adversaries, repeatedly confronting Daredevil with exceptional martial arts skills and unwavering devotion to the Hand's centuries-old mission. He reprised the role in the second season, where Nobu returns after being resurrected by the Hand before meeting his final defeat. Beyond Marvel, Shinkoda has appeared in films such as I, Robot, Paycheck, War, Godzilla, Midway, and The Predator, as well as television series including Hawaii Five-0, Supernatural, Stargate SG-1, and Sanctuary. In addition to acting, he has expanded into writing and producing, advocating for greater diversity and representation in the entertainment industry.
