George Richard Beymer Jr. (born February 20, 1938), professionally known as Richard Beymer, is an American actor, filmmaker, and photographer. He achieved international recognition for starring as Tony in West Side Story (1961), following earlier roles in films such as The Diary of Anne Frank (1959). His later career includes appearances in David Lynch's Twin Peaks (1990–1991; 2017), where he portrayed Benjamin Horne, as well as work as a writer, director, and documentary filmmaker. Beymer is recognized for his enduring contributions to both classic Hollywood cinema and television.
