Robert MacNaughton is an American former actor best known for portraying Michael, Elliott's older brother, in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. He began his career in theatre before appearing in film and television during the late 1970s and 1980s, including roles in I Am the Cheese and several television productions. Although his screen career was relatively brief, his performance in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial remains one of the most memorable supporting roles in one of cinema's most celebrated family films. He later stepped away from acting after working in film, television, and theatre.
